I’ve been working hard on a project for 3 years and I felt I would disclose it now.

It took me a very long time to make up my mind but I know I’m not mistaking. We all have one life, unless we believe in reincarnation, and I believe the timing is right and the idea thrilling. Check it out.

All this hype around Web 2.0, VCs now willing to invest in early stage projects, the pretty disappointing presidential campaign in France urged me to make a big life and career move.

That’s why I decided, upon the end of my studies in 3 weeks, that I’d be moving to New York City, a city I love so much and I miss hell a lot.

But I won’t just hang around in Williamsburg and eat cup cakes at the Magnolia Factory. I’m starting up an amazing company mixing brick-and-mortar business and Web 2.0: CraveDog.com

The idea is to allow people to book for a crave for their dog. I’m in the process of securing funds (investors may contact me by e-mail right here) to buy land in Connecticut to build there a cemetary for New York City dogs. Cemeteries have long been a true passion, and I go and run every week at Père Lachaise in Paris. And since I like pets and more specifically dogs too, I thought a cemetary for dogs would make sense.

But I couldn’t leave the Internet on the side. New York dogs know each other well from meeting in Central Park when their masters are dating. So basically, the idea is to allow dogs to chose next to which other dog they’d like to be buried. Brilliant isn’t it?

Revenues would be derived from selling coffins, leasing land, and of course, selling premium services to dogs over the Internet to help them arrange their after-life best.

Feel free to share your thoughts on a project that I’m planning to build over the next 20 years or so of my life. Feedbacks and job applications (by email preferably; we’re looking for top Web 2.0 programmers & salespeople (ideally native Americans) mainly) very welcome.

  5. Excellent idea. Maybe you should add a ” red fish ” section, for the Japanese community of NYC

  6. Whaou! sounds great! I am sure there is a huge market for dogs’ after life in New York. There’s no such thing as creating a market and being the only one to exploit it…Good luck and I know your various skills will make you truly successful!

  7. Dear Mr. Fain,
I must say, I found your blog-post only mildly amusing, considering we started this company 5 years ago, with the intent to promote interspecies body-relations between dogs and their owners. Our company is meant to promote life (and love), while yours seems to have a more morbid idea in mind.

I regret to inform you that we have contacted our lawyer to begin proceedings against your and your “blog” asap. Look forward to a few gray years of repaying us for lost reputation.

    Sincerely,
    haha
